Description |
M 74 is the prototype of a
face-on spiral galaxy and hosts an estimated 100 billion stars, similar to
our own Milky Way. It lies 30 million light years away towards the
constellation of Pisces. Its location in the northern sky and
turbulent atmospheric conditions made the imaging a real challenge. |
