Description |
The
image shows a highly enlarged section of the open galactic cluster NGC
2818 in the southern constellation of Pyxis (The Compass) and features the
planetary nebula for which this otherwise unconspicuous cluster is known.
Both nebula and cluster are at a distance of about 10.000 lightyears. The
field is only 4x3 arcminutes in size with north at the top
There is also an
image of the hosting cluster NGC 2818.
