Description |
NGC 5286 is a globular cluster
located 4.3° SSW of Zeta Centauri. Described as very bright (
mag 7.6 ), fairly large ( 9 arcmins ), round and extremely
rich, it has stars mag 15 and fainter. The foreground star is
the spectroscopic binary star M Centauri and at
mag 4.6 is easily visible to the naked eye under reasonably dark skies.
