Description |
Although relatively near to the
Sun at 20 000 light years, this globular cluster shines through about 4
magnitudes of interstellar absorption, so that it appears small and
obscure in the Sagittarius star clouds. It sits 2.3° south-west of
M 23 and 4.1° north-west of M 20 (the Trifid
Nebula).
