Designation |
NGC 6334, The Cat's Paw Nebula,
The Bear Claw Nebula |
Constellation |
Scorpius (Sco) |
Description |
Located very close to the
galactic equator, this large starforming region would be a magnificent,
bright emission nebula if it were not obscured by several magnitudes of
extinction, mostly in the blue and green. This makes it a challenge for
visual observation, but a prime target for Ha photography.
A larger field with neighbouring NGC 6357 is here.
