Description |
NGC 6822 is a dwarf irregular
galaxy, located approximately 1.6 million lightyears from earth. It is a
member of the Milky Way galaxy's Local Group and was discovered by E.E.
Barnard in the early 1880's. A number of large HII emission nebulae are
present as well as a bluish arm of young stars that extends towards the
upper right. |
