FS CMa stars

Updated: December 2011

The FS CMa are stars of spectral type B[e] presenting a strong infrared excess. We suspect them binaries with cooler companion.

Observations at low-resolution and high-resolution, in the visible or the near infrared of these objects are strongly encouraged Anatoly Miroshnichenko. The Halpha line is important. A frequency of at least one spectra per month is wished for every targets. The profile of the lines, radial velocity, equivalent width, presence of metallic lines, shape of the continuum are studied and subject to variations. It is a long-term survey on a new subject that all the targets of which were not all identified yet.

Spectra have to be sent directly to Anatoly Miroshnichenko, a_mirosh[@]uncg.edu (delete brakets) with "B[e] star data" at least in the subject to pass the anti spam filter.
