Debido a la enormemente baja densidad del gas que forma la nebulosa es perfectamente posible distinguir objetos como estrellas y galaxias de fondo a través de ella.

De hecho y con la ayuda del Sloan Digital Sky Survey se pueden identificar hasta 64 galaxias dentro del contorno de la nebulosa.

Las más brillantes son los ejemplos 1 y 2 con mg. de 16.62 y 17.69 respectivamente. Las más debiles visibles en la fotografía (ejemplos marcados 3 y 4 ) tienen mg. de 23.34 y 23.84 respectivamente.

* El cálculo de la mg. se realiza tomando los datos fotométricos del SDSS y realizando el cálculo aproximado de: magnitud total = ( r mg + v mg.) / 2

Due to the extraordinary low density of the gas forming the nebula itself, we can perfectly see through it and spot background objects like stars and galaxies.

In fact, with the help of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey photometric data, we can identify up to 64 background galaxies that lie inside the planetary nebula outline.

The most prominent ones are marked as 1 and 2 and have mg. 16.62 and 17.69 respectively. The faintest galaxies visible in the photograph (marked 3 and 4 ) are mg. 23.34 and 23.84 respectively.
