Images from the digitized Sky Survey

After reading Sean Walker’s essay in October 2006 Sky & Telescope magazine I decided to try my hands processing archived DSS or Hubble Space Telescope images.
I learned from Al Kelly DSS color processing tutorial, as from Steve Cannistra Bicolor technique.
Sky factory, Davide de Martin’s website inspired me too.
I download my data from The STScI Digitized Sky Survey, the ESO Online Digitized Sky Survey, or from the European for NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope.
The raw data are provided courtesy of the DSS and POSS2, with acknowledgements found here.
I work with a nice set of plug in actions for the Photoshop software made by Noel Carboni. The Synthesize green channel action generates a well balanced green channel using the Red and Blue raw data.
