Downloads news are about :

- New complete "Pro 3.5" version including DATLUN (c), the new VMA database manager
- Downloadable update for "Pro 3.0" CD owners
- New "Historical sites" database

- New pictures library "Best of amateurs"
- New pictures library "Apollo Mapping cameras"

These news are indicated in red.

Files have been cut in several packages to make easier transferts and so that every one can choose all the elements seeming personally interesting. The only mandatory package is one of the "Software Packs".

Required : Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP/Vista
has been reported to work on other platforms :

Some of the best world lunar imagers have accepted that their best pictures to be incorporated in a specific pictures libraries usable with VMA. This library contains more than 400 framesin this first edition. Some of thse pictures have been enhanced by Christian Legrand to harmonize their constrast and lighting. Because of their general quality, these pictures are not very compressed. Downloadable file is important. Beware ! these files are not on the new Pro 3.5 CD-Rom.

Service modules Apollo missions 15, 16 & 17 included B & W high resolution cameras taking vertical or with angle pictures. Lunar and Planetary Institute has authorized Christian Legrand to use these frames to realize a new VMA pictures library. This library contains more than 650 images. Because of their general quality, these pictures are not very compressed. Downloadable file is important. Dierent from LOPAM pictures, These new photos have been taken with a solar vertical lighting and show albedo varaitaions in formations. 100 m / pixel details in some of them.

Note : This library will now be completed only in the future because of the availability of the very high resolution "Photographic Clementine" texture (500 m). See above.

 

OpenGL problems :

Please read the Tutorial first!

If the program crash at startup with a variety of error message try one of the following :

  • Disable the video card hardware acceleration in the Windows Display Property.
  • Update your video card driver from the card manufacturer web page ( ATI, NVIDIA, INTEL )
  • Use the "Light" version of the program.

Windows problems :

If you run Windows 95 or Windows 98 and you receive a message about a missing export OLEAUT32.DLL:VarNot, please install the dcom update from Microsoft:
