Up Galaxies

A galaxy is a gravitationally bound system composed of stars, interestellar dust and gas and dark matter. According to their shape, can be classified as elliptical, spiral and irregular galaxies. Usually galaxies are gravitational bounded to other galaxies forming groups. These groups are also part of major formations with more than thousands of galaxies in which is known as superclusters of galaxies. Our Milky Way dominates together with our neighbour Andromeda the Local Group. However our Local Group of galaxies is part of the Virgo Supercluster dominated by the Virgo Cluster.
