Audine with Ethernaude = mean-sigma histograms for offset and dark frames


50 offset frames are taken with closed shutter and 0 sec exposure.
50 dark frames are taken with closed shutter and 30 sec exposure.
Prism v7 is used. The CCD camera temperature is -3.2 °C (offset) and -3.0°C (dark frames).

The mean-sigma histograms are similar as the ones discussed with the LPT1 interface (see here). For the offset frames:

It is clear that the high values of sigma at mean ~ 2720 are due to impacts of cosmic rays. In particular, they are more frequent for the dark frames, which have been exposed 30 sec, than for the offset frames which could only be contaminated during read-out time (i.e. during 3-4 sec).

The plots have been generated by Pyfits/Python with the command hexbin from matplotlib.
