La Réunion possède un nombre important de micro-climat mais les meilleurs sites astronomiques sont en altitude , loin des lumières de la cote et des turbulences de ces flancs de montagne . Le Maido est un site assez favorable surtout par son accessibilité mais baigne souvent dans une forte humidité , la couche d inversion thermique est fréquemment un peu au-dessus . L idéal est Le Grand Benard 2700m mais la c est a pied qu il faut monter , le ciel y est alors très pur et stable , peut être un jour un observatoire amateur y verra le jour .
Des obligations professionnelles et familiales m ont oblige a installer mon site fixe dans la pollution lumineuse de la banlieue de Saint Denis , exactement prés de Sainte Clotilde .

Professional and familly obligations obliged me to set my permanent site of observation in the light pollution of the suburb of St Denis , exactly near Ste Clotilde .

La transparence est assez bonne avec une magnitude limite visuelle de 5,5 ; la turbulence pas trop gênante fwhm 1.7 avec le 12" f/d
2.7 .
L horizon ouest est un peu bouche par des arbres ; pas trop de lumière prés du site , il est situe au bout d une impasse.
Pour ce site j utilise le matériel suivant : ST7E , Télescope LX200 12" avec réducteur de focale f/d=2,7 pour la recherche de
supernovae et pour la recherche de comètes le matériel suivant : Audine 1600 , voir le site Audine la camera de l Association AUDE
, Monture Takahashi EM200 , Télescope Perl 200mm f/d 4 .
The transparency is relatively good with a visual limiting mag of 5.5 ; the seeing is not too inconvenient fwhm 1.7 with the 12" f/d 2.7 .
The west horizon is a little cut off by trees ;there is not too light near the site , it is situated at the end of a blind-alley.
For this site I use the following equipment : ST7E , Telescope LX200 12" with focal reducer f/2.7 for the supernovae patrol and for the comets patrol : Audine 1600 , see the web site Audine the AUDE 's cam , Mounting Takahashi EM200 , Reflector Perl 8" f/d 4 .
