MINKOWSKI; Rudolf; 1895-1976; ALL/USA

After his studies in Koln and at Hamburg University, Minkowski emigrated in the USA in 1935, drove away by the nazis. He joined Mont Palomar team where he stayed until 1960 and then Berkeley. He used his theoretical studies on spectroscopy and lines widening to supernovae, galactic nebulae distribution, cometary spectra and planetary nebulae (numerous discoveries included in catalogues as the PK).
