RUSSELL; Henry N.; 1877-1957; USA

He graduated and worked at Princeton (USA) where he established the relationship between color and magnitude, the famous HR diagram: from 1903 to 1910, he measured parallaxes (ie distances) that allowed him in 1913 to correlate magnitudes and colors of stars ("Relations between the Spectra and Other Characteristics of Stars").
