My observing site is at the end of the backyard of my parent on a concrete
paving. The tescope base weights 40kg and stands on 4 jacks. The fork like
the base is in steel and weights 12kg. One can find in it the electrical
alimentation of a reticle eyepiece. The tube is in PVC lightened by some
lateral openings and has an internal covering of black velvet to minimize
internal reflections.
A "photograph platform" can be added on the tube capable
of hosting 3 different cameras and another telescope (Celestron Comet Catcher
5.5-inch). The mirror was made by Meade as well as the spider and mirror
support.
The telescope offers 0.3arc second resolution (on superior seeing conditions)
and a mag14.4 star was detected near NGC 7331 at 123x (on 10/07/97). Beeing
a supernova hunter, I have a coefficient K of 2.9 on the best nights and
2.3 on average nights (mean magnitude of 13.6).
The eyepiece holder is a cabestan from Arcane and the finder can be
the Comet Catcher at 20x (2.5degres field) or a simple 6x30mm.
