Great arabian astronomer, he established a catalogue of 1018 stars according to their brightness, positions and colors. He recorded the first extragalactic object, M31 in Andromeda observed about 905AD and written in books around 964. He also included 6 discoveries among the "nebulae" found by PTOLEMY and a second object found by himself, the open cluster now known to be IC2391 (O Vel).
