BRAHÉ;
Tycho; 1546-1601; DAN
Frederick II, king of Denmark, established for Brahe an observatory-island on Hven. There, he observed and measured with pugnacity star prositions. At first, he observed 1572's supernova with great detail ("De Nova Stella", 1573). As a result for all his observations, he compiled a catalogue of 777 stars containing 7 "nebulous stars" (6 asterisms and M44), he detailed atmospheric diffraction and discovered that comets are not atmospheric events (because he measured the distance of some as being more distant than the moon).
