French observer who discovered the ring nebula M57 in Lyra... From Kent Wallace (kwwallace@thegrid.net): I found some information on Antoine Darquier from Messier's Nebulae & Star Clusters, by Kenneth Glyn Jones. There is a nice biography on page 317 of this book. Darquier was born in 1718 and died in 1802. He was a French astronomer who worked at Toulouse. He made an extensive catalogue of star positions".
