Year 2001 allowed american and asian observers a great show, as was allowed to europeans in 1999. But in Europe there wasn't a big meteor activity and the few meteors was on the morning of 18 november. As a joke I've decided to image the Leonids with a digital camcorder, and incredibly I've found 11 meteors in abour 1,5 hours of film. Some of these are visible in this page. The digital camcorder, a Panasonic DS-15, was set up to do 1/12s exposures, and thanks to it's sensitivity, I've imaged meteors with a negative magnitude. With some computer elaboration also dimmer stars are made visible. The location is Tradate (VA, Italy), a light-polluted town.
