M42, the Orion nebula on 19/02/2011 from Thézac (dept. 17, France) Telescope: 80ED refractor F=600mm Guiding: none Mount: SkyWatcher NEQ6 Imager: Canon 450D 1600 ISO Moon: not yet risen Conditions: not too cold night, 11°C, few humidity Exposures: 28x30s Offsets: 15x1/4000s Darks: 3x30s Flats: 15x1/400s IRIS processing: removal of the offset and dark, dividing by the flat, registration and addition of exposures, method: arithmétic, then logarithme. GIMP processing: level of black. Commentary: strange colours, may be because of artificial light. Good guiding of the EQ6 mount. 
17/02/2011 from Thézac (dept. 17, France) Telescope: 80ED refractor F=600mm Guiding: none Mount: SkyWatcher NEQ6 Imager: Canon 450D 800ISO Moon: full moon very annoying Conditions: cold night 4°C, very humid Exposures: 18x30s Offsets: 15x1/4000s Darks: 3x30s IRIS processing: removing offset and dark, registration and addition of images, arithmetic method, then médian for the core. GIMP processing: level of black, and combine for revealing the core. Commentaire : it is difficult to have the detailed core after adding the images. To redo with less moon. Good guiding of the EQ6 mount.
