This Nortern circumpolar constellations was introduced by the Dutch globe-maker Petrus Kaerius in 1613. It occupies large area of the sky between Auriga, Cassiopeia and Ursa Major - however it does not contain stars brighter than magnitude 4.


Giraffe is graced by many deep sky objects. Among galaxies, NGC2403 stands out due to it brightness.
