Centaurus A Galaxy (NGC5128)

This bright peculiar galaxy corresponds to one of the strongest radiosources in the sky. It can be found about 4°30' N of w Centauri or the same distance W of m Centauri (see finder chart below).
The above image was taken in May 1996 during Texas Star Party near Fort Davis, TX using Celestron Ultima 8 SCT at f6.3. Ektachrome P1600 slide film was exposed for 1 hour and part of the resulting image was scanned.
Field of view corresponds to 30 x 28 arcminutes with North toward lower left corner.

Map created in Guide 7.0 - 7°45' x 10°. North is up.
