Corvus depicts the Raven sent by Apollo to bring water in the Cup (Crater). Distracted by fig fruits, the bird eventually return with Water Snake (Hydra) as well, claiming the reptile to be the reason for his long delay. Apollo was not amuzed and tossed the Raven and company into the night sky.


Antenae (interacting galaxies NGC4038/NGC4039) are the most famous deep sky object in Corvus.
