IC1318 Nebular Complex around g Cygni

This faint and large nebular complex surrounds 2nd magnitude g Cygni (see finder chart below). While this region is dominated by emission areas, there are quite a few dark nebulae as well - the most ptominent is B343 about 1°40' W of g Cygni.

The above mosaic is composed of 4 tiles. Each tile corresponds to a stack of 10 exposures (60 sec. each) taken with Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera through 135mm f2.8 and a photographic Ha filter on November 16, 2000 from Harrowsmith, Ontario. Individual images were processed and stacked using AIP4WIN and mosaic was assembled with Corel PhotoPaint 8.

Below is a wide angle view of g Cygni Nebular Complex taken on October 23, 1995 from Sharon Creek Conservation Area near London, Ontario. This 8 min. pigguback exposure was taken on Ektachrome P1600 slide film through 135mm f2.8 telephoto lens. Wolf-Rayet nebula NGC6888 is visible SW of g Cygni as well.
