NGC185 Dwarf Elliptical Galaxy in Cassiopeia
(RA 0h 39.0m , Dec. +48°20', 9.2 mag., 14 x 12 arcmin.)
This faint companion of Andromeda Galaxy is located across constellation line in Cassiopeia slightly less than 1° W of o Cassiopeiae (see finder chart below).
The above image was taken on December 17, 1998 from Sooke, BC. Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera was used on Celestron Ultima 8 f6.3 telescope and it was autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. It is composed of six white exposures (240 sec. each.) processed with AIP4WIN.
North is to the right.
