Flame Nebula (NGC2024) in Orion
(RA 5h 41.9m , Dec. -1°51', 30 x 30 arcmin.)

The above image was taken on November 11, 1998 from Sooke, BC. Cookbook 245 LDC camera was used on Celestron Ultima 8 SCT with f6.3 focal reducer. Telescope was autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. Two sets of white exposures (8 x 240 sec. and 4 x 240 sec.) as well as two sets of cyan, magenta and yellow-filtered integrations (3 x 240 sec. each) were combined into separate "tiles" with AIP4WIN. Final mosaic was then assembled with Corel PhotoPaint8 and color was adjusted in Lab color space.
