NGC2371-NGC2372 Planetary Nebula in Gemini

(RA 7h 25.6m , Dec. +29°29', 11.3 mag., >55"in diameter)


This faint planetary nebula in is located West of Castor and Pollux. Look for it 1°40' N of i Geminorum (see finder chart below).

Thye above image was taken on March 14, 1998 from Sooke, BC. Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera was used on Celestron Ultima 8 f6.3 telescope, autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. White integrations (7 x 240 sec.) as well as cyan, magenta and yellow-filtered exposures (3 x 240 sec., 2 x 240 sec. and 2 x 240 sec., respectively) were combined using AIP4WIN. Color image was further adjusted in Lab color space using PhotoPaint 8.

Only a quater of the original Cookbook 245 frame is shown. North is to the right.
