NGC3941 Galaxy in Ursa Major
(RA 11h 52.9m , Dec. +36° 59', 10.3 mag., 3.7 x 2.6 arcmin.)
This small but bright barred-spiral galaxy is located in the very southern portion of Ursa Major, about 3°40' NE of 61 Ursae Majoris (see finder chart below).
The above image was taken on March 15, 2001 from Harrowsmith, Ontario. Cookbook 245 LDC camera was used on Celestron Ultima 8 f6.3 telescope autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. Seven white exposures (240 sec. each) were combined using AIP4WIN.
North is to the right.
