NGC6217 Galaxy in Ursa Minor
(RA 16h 32.7m , Dec. +78°12', 11.8 mag., 3.6 x 3.0 arcmin.)
This fine barred spiral galaxy forms equilateral triangle with h & z Ursae Minoris (see finder chart below).
The above image was obtained on July 28, 2003 from Harrowsmith, Ontario with self-guiding Cookbook 245/211 CCD camera on a Celestron Ultima 8 f10 SCT. Seven white images (120 sec. each) were processed using AIP4WIN.
North is down. This images reaches down to about mag. 18.5
