NGC663 is an open cluster near M103 and about 2°40' NEE of d Cassiopeiae (see finder chart below) or same distance SSW of e Cassiopeiae.
The above image was taken on December 29, 2000 from Harrowsmith, Ontario. Variable high level ice fog caused light scatter which highlighted color of the brightest stars in this beautiful cluster. Cookbook 245 LDC camera was used on Celestron Ultima 8 SCT with f3.0 focal reducer. White exposures (19 x 30 sec.)were combined with cyan, magenta and yellow-filtered images (5 x 30 sec. each) using AIP4WIN software and the color image was furter adjusted using Lab color space with Corel PhotoPaint 8.
