NGC6633 Open Cluster in Ophiuchus

(RA 18h 27.2m , Dec. +06 34', 4.6 mag., 27 arcmin.)

This loose , bright cluster stands out against the Milky Way's background even in binoculars. To locate it, look 530' SEE of 71 Ophiuchi (see finder chart below).

The above image was taken on May 19, 2001 from Harrowsmith, Ontario. Cookbook 245 LDC camera was used on Celestron Ultima 8 SCT with f3.0 focal reducer. White (15 x 30 sec.) exposures were combined with cyan, magenta and yellow-filtered integrations (5 x 30 sec. each) using AIP4WIN and the image was further adjusted in Lab color space using Corel PhotoPaint 8.
