NGC7822 Nebular Complex in Cepheus

(RA 0h 03.6m , Dec. +68°37', 60 xc 30 arcmin.)


NGC7822 (top of the image) is a very faint and large emission nebula located about 7° NEE of i Cephei (see finder chart below). It is accompanied by Cederblad 214 nebula (left of center) and NGC7762 open star cluster (right). There is also an area of interesting dark nebulosity just W of Ced214.

The above image was taken on November 17, 2001 from Harrowsmith, Ontario with Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera attached to 135mm f2.8 lens with a photographic Ha filter. It is composed of four tiles (10 x 120 sec. each) assembled with AIP4WIN and combined using Corel PhotoPaint 8.
