NGC891 in Andromeda

(RA 2h 22.6m , Dec. +4221', 9.9 mag., 13 x 3 arcmin.)

This famous edge-on spiral galaxy is located 330' E of g Andromedae (see finder chart below).

Image above was taken on August 29, 1998 from Sooke, BC using Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera on Celestron Ultima 8 f6.3 telescope, autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. It is composed of W (4 x 4 min.) and CMY (3 x 4 min. each) integrations processed with Multi245, AIP245, QColor and PhotoPaint 8. This image was re-processed in Lab color space .

North is to the right.
