Orion, the Hunter, roams the sky with his hunting dogs (Canis Major and Canis Minor). According to Greek myth, he almost died after being stung by the Scorpion (Scorpius) sent by Gaia to prevent Orion from hunting all aminals to extinction. Asclepius (Ophiuchus) saved Orion's life. Mortal enemies ever since, Orion and Scorpius are never seem together in the sky.

Orion Nebula (M42/M43) is visible with the naked eye below the line of three stars marking Orion's belt.
