BRIEF DESCRIPTION
18.5_N_149.3_W
Ridge Section 112 is titled Mach and is located on the lunar Far Side. Mach is a large lunar crater, 180 km wide, of the class known as a walled plain. Nearby craters of note include Joule, which is out of frame (Section 101) and to the northeast, Mitra attached to the western outer rim but in Section 111, and Henyey to the southwest. Mach is a prominent but eroded formation with multiple craters along the rim and interior. The crater Harvey breaks across the eastern rim, and its outer rampart spills across the interior floor of Mach. Mach has a prominent outward bulge to the northeast which can be caused by a second, merged crater. The northern edge is also the most worn and overlain by impacts. The interior of Mach is marked by several small craters, particularly in the northeastern bulge.  The remainder of the interior floor is relatively level, when compared to the terrain that surrounds this crater. There is a formation of central ridges near the midpoint that create a large number of unexplained magnetic anomalies, or at least the center if the northeastern bulge is disregarded.  Ray material from Joule T to the north crosses the floor of Harvey, passing along the western side of the midpoint and nearly bisecting the interior. Section 112 and this directory was created by Fran Ridge and Ned Haskin of The Lunascan Project).
