BRIEF DESCRIPTION
10.4_S_167.1_E
Heaviside is a 165 km lunar impact crater located on the lunar Far Side. It is attached to the eastern rim of the equally large walled plain Keeler (Section 118), although Keeler is somewhat less eroded.  Much further northwest is Stratton (Section 119) but the satellite crater Stratton K is in the far NW corner of our section here. To the southeast of Heaviside is the prominent Aitken, which is stealing the show with all its interest and reports, but Heaviside is the most prominent crater. Its outer wall has been worn and eroded by subsequent impacts, particularly to the north and south. Only the eastern rim remains relatively intact, while the western rim has been slightly distorted by the adjacent Keeler impact. The relatively flat interior floor is marked by many small craterlets and rugged terrain to the southeast and west. The most notable of these are the satellite craters Heaviside N in the south, Heaviside Z in the north, and the bowl-shaped Heaviside E near the eastern rim. (Credit: Some of the information used in the section feature descriptions was obtained from wikipedia.org. Section 130 and this directory was created by Fran Ridge and Ned Haskin of The Lunascan Project).
