SECTION DESCRIPTION
The south-eastern part of Mare Imbrium and southwestern promontory
of the Apennines, terminated by the crater Eratosthenes. Bright rays from
the crater Copernicus are visible on the surface of Mare Imbrium under
high illumination. A system of wrinkle ridges and a small dome can be seen
under oblique illumination about 15 km south-south-east of the crater Beer.
