| Section 43 is predominantly mare area, but the images above only reflect the southeastern portion. The crater Davy, shown in the upper left image, is not the large crater in the center (Davy Y), but the one SW of it with a 15 km crater (Davy A) on its rim. Davy is 35 km wide. And, of course, Davy Y, in the center of all this is much larger and has a crater chain (Catena Davy) which is 50 km long. The cropped Lunar Orbiter image above shows more detail. |
