| The image of Grimaldi at above left is cropped from a huge ESO telescopic image showing extreme detail, especially for a crater on the SW limb of the Moon. Grimaldi is a huge basen whose flooded center is surrounded by an inner wall 222 km in diameter. The damaged outer wall is 430 km wide. The Lunar Orbiter 4 image is an awesome overhead view of the crater. The blemish in the dark area is not a real feature. |
