| The "ghost" crater Lamont (slightly below center in cropped image at left) is a unique formation measuring some 75 km in diameter. The circular walls, which resemble typical wrinkle ridges, range from 5-10 km in width and are up to 200 m in height. An extensive system of wrinkle ridges is associated with Lamont in the western region of Mare Tranquilitatis. The 26 km crater just NW is Arago. |
