Brief

The close-up of the crater Moretus above left is from an oblique view at the south pole of the Moon in Section 73. The Lunar Orbiter image at right is an overhead view. Moretus is a huge crater (114 km wide) with a central peak. Space probes have yet to map this area in detail, but the orbiter images we do have are extremely detailed.
