| An extraordinarily elongated crater, measuring 179 x 71 km, the shape of its walls resembles a footprint. The floor of the crater is smooth, as if flooded with lava. Non-circular formations have complicated structural histories and Schiller, by virtue of its size, is the most remarkable example on the Moon. The LO4 view (upper right) is remarkably similar to the image at left, except the detail is greater in the orbiter shot. |
