Wide field photographs are the most productive, because they are easiest to do (virtually free of guiding issues) and usually require much less time setting the scope.
To shot whole constellations I use the standard 50mm lens of my reflex Chinon CM-5 (a cheap mechanical one of 1987), once you stop to F/4 images become sharp.
Lately I'm using the PC to enhance the photographs, adding lines linking the stars and simulating the "Akira Fuji Style" to show colors better.
To shot the largest nebulae I use a Tamron 200mm F/3.5 lens, which is quite good at full aperture.
