This galaxy is very low over the southern horizon and this explain the low resolution of this image. This is another case of discordant redshift galaxy pair. The small galaxy at south-east is NGC 1232A, its redshift is 0.022012 (+/- 0.000150), the Heliocentric Radial Velocity is 6599 (+/- 45) km/s and the estimated distance is 283,000,000 light-years. |
