Etoiles Be


Les étoiles de type Be sont des étoiles en rotation rapide de type spectral B dont le spectre est caractérisé par des raies de la série de Balmer en émission et un excés de rayonnement infra-rouge. Elles présentent des variations irrégulières de leurs propriétés spectroscopiques et photométriques. Ces étoiles sont entourées d'une enveloppe gazeuse ionisée par le rayonnement de l'étoile centrale. Les recombinaisons qui en découlent produisent une agmentation de la brillance des raies de l'hydrogène, H alpha en particulier. Les raies en émission de leur spectre presentent des formes très diverses. L'un des premiers modèles d'étoile Be est le modèle rotatoire de Struve(1931). Depuis de nombreuses études ont été menées sur ces raies pour expliquer la formation de l'enveloppe, sa forme, son évolution et ses paramètres cinématiques.
