Paranal UT1 Virtual Reality
Ever dreamt of moving a "big one" yourself ?

... well ... the following Virtual Reality animation below enables you to move a big telescope yourself ! This telescope here is "UT1", one of the four 8-m telescopes of ESO Paranal Observatory, located in the Atacama desert in Chile. Use your keyboards (arrow keys), on-screen buttons, or mouse to move the altitude axis of the telescope, azimuth axis and the mouse wheel to zoom in/out. You can go full-screen by using the "crossed arrows button on the window".

The version below is a good quality version (with zooming possibilities) for faster internet connection (36Mb to load). If internet connection speed is a concern for you, you should rather look at this lower quality version without zooming capability (7.6 Mb).
