Takahashi FSQ
FSQ-85ED (2008- )
The FSQ-85ED is the second quadruplet refractor telescope made by Takahashi. It is called "Baby Q" . A new x0,75 focal reducer (328mm focal lenght, f/3.86) is available.
FSQ-106 & FSQ-106N (1999-2005)
The FSQ-106 is a unique instrument. It is the first quadruplet made by Takahashi. The optical design is derivated from petzval design. The objective include two lens in fluorite glass. This is the fastest refractor made by Takahashi, with a 530mm focal length (f/5). The photographic field is free from curvature, coma, astigmatisme and vignetage on a 88mm diameter circle (field of 9.5° !!). There is two versions of this refractor. The first one, produced in 1999 and 2000 is FSQ-106, and the second one since 2000 is FSQ-106N (or FSQ-106Kai in Japan), which has a retractable dew shield. The production has stopped in 2005 and last models was sold in mid 2006.
FSQ-106ED (2007- )
The new FSQ is almost the same that the old one, but now the objective include two lens in ED glass. The bigger difference is that the back focus is now longer. So it's more easy to use binocular and this allow the use of the new f/3,6 focal reducer. The geometrics aberrations are the same and the chromatic aberration is better.
