Spectrograph SBIG DSS-7

This page is just a quick review of the SBIG spectrograph DSS7, recently received and only used one evening. I was impressed by the ease of use and the quality of the spectra done in very few time! Acquisition software is not that great... need to be reviewed (plan to use AudeLA in longer term).

Spectra below taken on first night with a C11 on a Losmandy Titan mount. No processing or calibration done yet!

Cette page est une revue rapide du spectrographe SBIG DSS7 que j'ai reçu tout récemment. La mise en route est simple et facile, et la qualité des spectres très bonne. Peu utilisé encore, mais à priori un joli spectrographe! Par contre, un bémol sur le logiciel d'acquisition qui n'est pas terrible... une occasion de programmer en TCL/TK bientôt pour intégrer cela dans AudeLA!!!

Les spectres ci-dessous ont été rapidement traité mais non calibrés - c'est "brut de fonderie" comme on dit! :-) Le nova Sgr 2, découverte le 4 Juillet, est ici prise le 5 Juillet... donc peu de temps après la découverte!

NOVA SAGITTARII 2005 No. 2

Discovered by W. Liller in Chile on July 4.049 UT, this nova is around mag 8. R.A. = 18h17m.9, Decl.= -30o27' (equinox 2000.0). I had chance to take a spectra on July 5th & one on July 7th... look at the difference!!!
