Seyfert's Sextet (NGC6027) in Serpens

(RA 15h 59.2m , Dec. +20°45', 15 mag., 2 x 1 arcmin.)


This compact group of interacting galaxies is located 1°50' E of r Serpentis (see finder chart below).

The above image was taken on June 3, 2002 from Harrowsmith , Ontario using Cookbook 245 LDC CCD camera on Celestron Ultima 8 f6.3 telescope, autoguided with Cookbook 211 LDC camera on a piggybacked 500mm f8 telephoto lens. Seven white integrations (240 sec. each) were processed with AIP4WIN.

North is to the right.
